This resin demonstrates good processing behavior and is tailored for trouble-free production of primary cable insulation, especially filled telephone cable because its unique stabilizer system resists extraction by petroleum-jelly base filling compounds. Because of its ease of processing and resultant low operating pressures, Pro-fax EP315J resin keeps wire draw to a minimum and consequently has been the preferred resin for 24 and 26 AWG wire. It offers a superior balance of stiffness and impact strength as compared to competitive impact copolymers of similar melt flow rate range. Typical applications include appliances, automotive, compounding, consumer products, housewares, and rigid packaging. Benefits include enhanced impact and stiffness. This material meets the requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as specified in 21 CFR 177.1520.
